Jug or bottle, grey stoneware, mottled brown salt-glaze, rounded foot, globular body, decorated with a central band containing a repeated inscription, with four applied acanthus leaves above and below, and with five roundels, each bearing a man's head in profile to right; elongated neck sprigged with a large bearded mask; loop handle; shallow domed pewter cover, hinged, with bead finial and bifurcated thumbpiece.
