Oil tanker built 1962 as BP ENTERPRISE by Harland & Wolff Ltd., Glasgow (with 6-cylinder B&W type diesel engine built by Harland & Wolff), for BP Tanker Co Ltd., London 1968 – Renamed BRITISH MERLIN (same owner). 1977 – Sold to Luzon Stevedoring Corporation, Manila, and renamed LSCO BASILAN. 1980 – Sold to Philippine National Oil Company – Shipping & Transport Corporation, Manila, and renamed PNOC BASILAN. She caught fire following an explosion on 26th November 1983, and sank off the west coast of Luzon. (clydeships.co.uk)
