Mug, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a high tapering foot-rim, pear-shaped body flaring out slightly to the mouth, plain deeply grooved handle; painted in red, blue green and gilt with a Japanese-style decoration, to the exterior body a large spreading flowering shrub, two pheasant-like birds in red and blue and a further group of large flowers and foliage, border to the exterior lip-rim of a red interwoven rope-like pattern interspersed with the occasional flower head in gilt, a gilt foliate motif to the handle.
