Roman copper alloy disc brooch
Fragmentary disc brooch with a conical centre of a truncated cone type with a central nodule protruding above it. Three small lugs remain around the broken outer edge, originally there would have been six. Three concentric grooves decorate the base and part of the hinged pin survives in situ. The brooch is a common type, a very similar on is known from Hengisbury Head, Dorset (Hattat 1987, Fig 60.1071). A number have been recovered from Caerleon (Brewer 1986, Fig 55.23).
