Launch of M.V. CORNISH CITY, photograph
Photograph of the launch of the MV CORNISH CITY, Upper Clyde Shipbuilders c.1968. Photograph shows (by tradition) the yard's youngest apprentice presenting the sponsor with a bouquet. Between the two is Sue Reardon Smith (Anthony Reardon Smiths wife). Photograph stuck to card with paper interleaf and cover.
M.V. CORNISH CITY. Built in 1969 by Fairfield, Govan, for Reardon Smith Line Ltd, Bideford. 1973 owned by Reardon Smith Line Ltd., and Reardon Smith Nav.Co. Ltd. In 1977 renamed NEPTUNE STAR and owned by Great Neptune Star Sg. Co. SA., Panama. 1991 owned by Great Neptune Star Sg. Ltd., Valletta. 1992 renamed LONG KHANH for Vietnam Sea Transport and Chartering Co., Saigon. 1997 Broken up at Alang, India.
