Digital photograph taken at a Q&A event in the week leading up to the first Barry Pride that was held on 21 September 2019.

As part of Barry Pride’s ambition to Educate, Commemorate and Celebrate during Barry Pride 2019, they hosted a live Q&A evening at Academy Espresso Bar on Wednesday 18 September. The live panel event was hosted by Beth Fisher (ITV News Sports Reporter, LGBT Sport Cymru Ambassador and International Athlete), with five speakers - Lisa Power MBE (co-founder of Stonewall and lifelong social activist), Bleddyn Harris (following an appearance on ITV News, Bleddyn has been delivering speeches on the importance of LGBTQ+ history), Georgina Gilbert (a firefighter, triathlete and #HeForShe ambassador, to stop gender, social and generational stereotyping), Berwyn Rowlands (Iris film Festival Director and founder of the Iris Prize – the world’s largest LGBTQ+ short film prize), and Jenny Charles (an activist for equality and human rights and has been closely involved in the campaign for the Welsh Gender Service to be made fit for purpose).
