Tea bowl and saucer, hard-paste porcelain, tea bowl standing on a foot rim, flared sides, everted lip; decorated in monochrome black enamel, on one side with a harbour scene, a group of figures and tent to left, water and ship to right, the other side with a landscape with a church with steeple in centre, boat with figures to right, bank with figures to left, both within gilt and purple lustre cartouches with purple and pink scrolling, joined with two purple tear-shaped scenes, bottom decorated with a purple spray of flowers surrounded by two purple concentric circles, ornamental gilt border to inner lip. Saucer standing on a foot rim, spreading sides, everted lip; decorated in monochrome black with a landscape in the centre, church with a spire, figures around, village in background, tree on bank to right, within gilt and purple lustre cartouche with purple and pink scrolling, ornamental gilt border to lip, three sprays of purple flowers to underside.
