Early Medieval silver arm ring
Flattened fragment of silver Hiberno-Viking arm-ring, now in two conjoining pieces. Its form is a flat band which expands at what would have been the mid-portion of the original arm-ring, and tapers to a narrow, fractured end. It is rectangular in cross-section. The production and flattening process has left multiple transverse stress fractures on the outer face. The arm-ring ends do not appear to have been cut as hack-silver and the fractured ends appear to be fresh.
