Our Dumb Friends League medal
'Our Dumb Friends League' medal presented to Mr F.D. Llewelyn. Heart shaped silver medal with heart shaped centre in which four animals with buildings and tent in background surrounded by plain heart edge in which 'OUR DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE / A SOCIETY FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF KINDNESS TO ANIMALS'. Obverse has inscription and hallmark. Medal is suspended on a scarlet silk ribbon by a plain silver bar and brooch fitting. In original case of issue.
Presented to Mr F.D. Llewelyn for organising and leading the rescue of horses underground at the Glamorgan Collieries, Llwynypia, during the Cambrian Combine Dispute, November 1910.
