Mask
"The mask I made from a material that I already had in the house, it was originally used to make a dress at my first attempt at making my own clothes. I originally made some for my Mum who was working in a supermarket during the Covid pandemic. Then I made some for my husband and children. I wore mine when I went shopping, my husband when he had to go to work and my daughter had to wear them around her school, in crowded corridors etc. I made them for friends, family and neighbours. All the material I already had or from people donating material, like old pillowcases, sheets and duvets. The masks are all reusable and are washed and tumble dried after every use. I loved making these items, it made me feel like I was doing my little bit to help out the community during the lockdown" (Tracey from Cardiff).
Face mask, shaped for a better fit. Both outer and lining made from zebra-print cotton fabric. Side edges folded in and black elastic (width = 6mm) drawn through the resulting channel. The ends of the elastic have been knotted together. All machine stitched using black thread.
