Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Plate, earthenware, in the form of an ancient Greek patera, incised foot-rim, deeply curving sides, everted rim, incised lines around the exterior and interior rim; the decoration reserved against a black enamel ground so that the red earthenware body is revealed, this then transfer-printed in black with to the centre of the well two female figures dancing hand-in-hand, the figures are clad in flowing draperies, one figure holds a wreath, a border of Greek key-shapes to the rim.
