Bowl

Bell-Hughes, Beverley

Stoneware 'shell bowl', gravelled clay stained dark grey blue, and hand modelled. Surface deeply pitted and cracked, of deliberately varying thickness, including some small holes. Small narrow base set off centre. Cup shaped bowl formed of several large unevenly sized and modelled lobes, giving an asymmetric bulging shape. Uneven frilled rim, approximately quatrefoile, lower on one side, higher on the other and partially enclosing the interior.
