Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Shell-shaped dessert dish, soft-paste porcelain, good clear translucency and almost colourless lustrous glaze; folded triangular handle, up-curving rim moulded in four large and four small lobes; painted with a small brightly coloured bouquet of stylised flowers in the centre and with three similar bouquets on the rim, one of which includes a 'bearded tulip', three smaller bouquets between, and a scattering of floral sprigs and insects, line of deckel-edged gilding to the rim, the handle decorated with gilt scrolls and rays.
