Sand horn
Horn with the point removed; string passes through holes near the rim of the horn at both ends to form a carrying 'strap'; at the bottom the string continues and is tied off through a hole in the leather pad (F72.380.4); at the top the string continues and is tied through a hole in the lid of the grease horn (F72.380.2); the hole in the pointed end of the horn is plugged with a wooden bung; the hole in the top is stoppered with a wooden lid painted red; there are the ends of 3 iron 'nails' portruding from the horn just below the level of the lid
