Post-Medieval silver finger ring
Silver devotional iconographic finger ring fragment. Comprising of one of what would have been five integrally cast oval bezels, alternating with narrow, plain oval beads. The surviving bezel bears the image of Christ in a loincloth, from waist up - probably an image of Pity. The other four missing bezels probably bore different cast designs-either symbols of the Passion of Christ or symbols of the wounds of Christ. The background of the bezel is countersunk within a plain oval border, and has a stippled surface, but there are no signs of enamel.
