Figure of Maria Manning, white earthenware with a blue tinted crackle glaze thickly applied, standing on an oval plinth inscribed in gilt script. Figure in contemporary dress of pointed black slippers, full pink skirt decorated with black sprigs, underglaze blue, wide sleeved, close fitting jacket outlined in gold, yellow straw poke bonnet edged with pale blue ribbon decorated with black spots and lines and tied under chin, standing with left hand across body and holding a handkerchief in her right hand, right arm slightly bent.
