Tray
Japanware tin tray, elogated octagonal form with deep fretted border. Tray varnished black and with small areas of brown tortoiseshell. Naturalistically painted with fruit and flowers. Central grouping of two large apples, plum, raspberries, cherry white grapes, white currants, cob nuts and ladybird. Surrounded by seven sprays each of a different flowering plant including honeysuckle, one further spray of rose hips. Dark green wave band below border, overpainted with gilt circles simulating marble, inner side outlined with gilt leaf scrolls and strings of dots. Deep fretted border, the lower part of arcading and diamonds, the upper band of smaller diamonds. Corners overlapped and rivetted.
