Severn tunnel pumping station, slide
Severn Tunnel pumping engines - Sudbrook no.2 Shaft (Iron Shaft). Interior view of no.2 pumping engine house for the two 50 inch Bull Engines by Harvey & Co, Hayle, 1877 (date on beam of no.9 engine which is AC-NMW acc.no. 69.183, and no.8 engine is Science Museum acc.no.69-2) and one 75 inch Cornish engine by Harvey & Co of Hayle, 1880 (but beam was dated 1879). Looking north east at the timber lagging of the Bull engine cylinders (no.8 on the left, no.9 on the right). On the right is part of one of the overhead maintenance cranes.
