Early Medieval ceramic crucible
Type series of knobs and restored bowls. About one-half of the bowl of a crucible, including the spout. Probably from an unusually deep pear-shaped crucible, in a fine grey fabric with quartz grit. Towards the rear a buff-coloured outer wall appears, which is most probably the springing for a lid. Almost the whole exterior of the available fragment is coated with a highly vitrified grit-enriched slip or envelope, which is deeply heat cracked.
