Roman copper alloy Polden Hill brooch
Polden Hill brooch. Complete but with the foot bent to one side. The iron axis is in situ, the spring and schord a little worn. The terminal knob on the foot is decorted with an incised rosette pattern, the head and wings with bands of light punch dot decoration. The detached hinged pin, may be intrusive, or less likely may have been a replacement of the original pin now lost. Information from site report by G. Lloyd Morgan and J. Webster.
