Bedgown
Loose-cut bedgown, made from printed cotton tabby fabric (brown with circles made out of red, green and white dots). Lined with floral printed cotton tabby fabric (mainly browns on white ground). Sleeves not lined, but cuffs are lined with 21cm wide strips of lining fabric. Cuffs turned up by 9cm. Cut straight across the shoulders with square inserts underarm. Selvages on seam along length of sleeve; combination of machine and hand stitched. Wide yoke inserted at upper back with small box pleat at centre back neck. Main fabric is gathered into the lower and side edges of yoke. There are small stitches in black cotton thread (only through the lining) at the upper right shoulder and to the right of the centre back in the lower part of the garment. It is not clear what their purpose is.
