Roman pottery beaker
Large, roughcast beaker with a dark coloured slip surface
Pottery beaker with ‘roughcast’ finish. 150-400 CE. It was made in the Nene Valley, Cambridgeshire, and found at Segontium, Caernarfon, north Wales.
The Romans mass-produced pottery and developed large production centres in Britain such as in the Nene Valley, to supply military and civilian markets.
