Ice pail, liner and cover
Ice pail, hard paste porcelain, standing on three legs which taper down to paw feet resting on a circular stepped base, cylindrical body with pendant knob to the bottom, inside the body fits a cylindrical liner with spreading rim, domed cover with two bands of ogee-style perforations, to the top of the cover a finial in the form of overlapping acanthus leaves; the exterior of the ice pail, the rim of the liner and the cover covered with a black ground in imitation of Chinese laquer, this then finely painted in gilt with around the body of the ice pail chinoiseries showing figures, trees, pavillions and bridges, to the top of the base a spray of flowers, around the edge of the the top of the base, the upper rim of the ice pail, the rim of the liner and the rim of the cover a border of a running stem issuing leaves and berries, the base, feet, legs and rims of the ice pail, and the perforations and finial of the cover edged and highlighted in gilt. Cracks to the body of the ice pail and the liner. Small chips to the rim of the cover and the base of the ice pail.
