Early Medieval lead spindle whorl
Irregulare bun shaped lead object with cylindrical perforation; perhaps a spindle whorl. The top has a number of shallow radial grooves.
Bone spindle whorl from Dinas Powys hillfort, south Wales. 450-700 CE. The same technology was used to spin wool for thousands of years.
