Toothache-specific bottle
bottle with three pins
The content of this bottle was once used to cure toothache. It was found on Barry Island in 1895. You can still see the iron pins inside. Iron was believed to have special healing powers because it had been purified by the hot flames of the smithy. A clove oil liquid was infused with the iron pins and was rubbed on the sore area.
