Notes written in Welsh by D. Lewis from Llanrhystud on the subject of milling in the Cardiganshire area, in response to a question on page 15 of the questionnaire sent out by the National Museum in 1937 requesting information on Welsh folk customs.
Questionnaire on Welsh Folk Culture, 1937 Prepared by the Department of Folk Culture, National Museum of Wales, and published in 1937. The questionnaires were sent to parishes, schools and individuals as a way of collecting information about all aspects of Welsh folk culture. The questionnaire was divided into the following subject areas: domestic life, corporate life, cultural life, crafts and industries. The museum was keen to engage with the people of Wales and the questionnaire respondents to collect objects and stories as a basis for establishing the Welsh Folk Museum in 1948.
