Dinorwig slate quarry, photograph
Dinorwig Quarry taken from one ponc (gallery), looking down at the ponc (gallery) below. In the photograph two quarrymen and one steward, possibly Mr Owen William Humphreys, are standing beside two rubble wagons, looking at a large piece of slate which has been dislodged from the rockface above. A series of ‘cytiau mochal ffiar’ (blasting shelters / huts), wagons, and railway tracks, can be seen on the different ponciau (galleries).
