Black painted fabric-covered fan, wooden sticks and guards, upper and lower edge of leaf trimmed with lace. Black-lacquered wooden sticks and guards are stamped with gold-coloured floral decoration. Semi-transparent tabby woven gauze fabric is painted with design of Violets and fixed to sticks and guard with adhesive. Upper edge of leaf is trimmed with wide floral lace, lower edge is trimmed with narrow lace. Sticks held together at bottom with iron pin over domed brass washer. Brass hanging loop attached to same place. Narrow black velvet ribbon is knotted around this loop (double-knots in three places or ribbon).
