Plate, no footring, transfer printed, on-glaze in manganese with an armed brig in sail; beneath an elongated trophy like arrangement of canons flags and weapons, a drum, trident and mermaid's head and lute. Densely patterned border of quatrefoiles within diapers, interspersed with semi-circles of radiating petals, border with a lacy inner edge. Rim enamelled orange. Extensive brown marks.
