Binoculars
Pair of binoculars made from japanned brass covered in leather, with a leather carrying case lined in red velvet. The lid is stamped with the inscription 'ROSS LTD 111 New BOND ST AND & COCKSPUR ST LONDON'. Used by Lieut. Thomas McLachlan (4th Reserve Battalion South Lancs Regiment) during the First World War. He ws gassed in trenches, but survived and returned to Cardiff to run, with wife Dora, West End Stores near Victoria Park.
