Nightdress case (quilted)
Quilted oval nighdress case. Made in 1937 by a Mrs Evans of Ynyshir, Rhondda, for Miss Sheena Steel. Miss Steel helped to organise a small holiday camp for miners’ wives in the Rhondda. Mrs Evans gave the nightdress case to her as a gift.
Made from light blue crepe de chine, with cream lining. Quilting design includes motifs of a rose and leaves on one side, flower surrounded by trellis-work on the other.
