S.S. TIRYDAIL, half hull ship model
Half hull mirror backed model of the S.S. TIRYDAIL. In mahogany case with front glass panel.
S.S. TIYRDAIL. Steam coaster of 650 gross tons, built by C.H. Walker & Co. in 1918 for the Western Valley Anthracite Collieries Ltd., Swansea. She was sold in 1926 to F.T. Everard & Co. of Greenhithe, Kent and in 1947 she was sold again to the Dinorwic Slate Quarries, Port Dinorwic amd re-named JOSEPH MITCHELL. She foundered and sank off Ballycotton, County Cork on 8 February 1950 whilst bound Garston-Cork with a cargo of coal.
