Plate, pale buff coloured earthenware, circular shape with inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim; covered all over with a pale blue tin-glaze, this then painted in blue with to the centre of the well a Dutch-style village scene showing in the foreground a small figure apparently fishing in an expanse of water, in the background a group of buildings and trees, to the bottom of the scene is the inscription "E / I * G / 1767" in blue, the rim decorated with a pattern of stylized flower heads, foliage and pineapple-like fruit in white tin calx ('bianco sopra bianco'), the glaze worn off around the edge of the rim.
