Jug, earthenware, pear-shaped body, tapering at shoulder, ending in everted lip rim with an upright raised spout, high loop handle, slightly reeded, upper and lower terminals with foliate moulding; transfer printed in blue, overpainted in iron red, pink, yellow and olive green, with the 'Birds' pattern, consisting on one side of two exotic birds, their plumage overpainted in iron red and pink, perched on a tree trunk, surrounded by bull rushes and tropical type foliage, on the other side with two more conventional birds, their plumage overpainted in iron red and yellow, the smaller perched in front of bull rushes, the larger in the foreground on a tree stump; a running shamrock leaf border to lip-rim issuing sprays of exotic foliage with iron red flowers and small parrot type birds interspersed, running shamrock border to interior lip-rim issuing a pendulate line and dot pattern, running shamrock border to handle.
