Sampler
SILK, embroidered with coloured silks in satin and split stitches. Of oval shape and filled with a bunch of roses and pansies. There is a chenille border of a wavy stem with sequins. On the paper backing is the following written inscription: “Mary Gittins Rayton / Oswestry Scool (sic) / 1794”.
