Figure of dying Nelson, supported by two figures, in white earthenware with a crackle glaze with some blue spotting, dense black firing spots on heads and faces of the figures and shoulder of right hand figure, running down the moulded ribs of the back and in smaller patches elsewhere on the body, wedge shaped base, figures moulded at back with raised outlines of sails, above a brown band forming the body of the boat. Nelson dressed in black shoes, white stockings, pink britches, gilt sword against left leg, underglaze blue coat with gilt detailing, orange and yellow epaulettes and white cocked hat with a gilt line across, his right arm bent across his body. Leaning left against a seated figure (see notes possibly Revd Dr Scott) in black shoes, green trousers, underglaze blue coat with gilt detailing, over a white shirt, white necktie spotted with purple, and with black hair, right arm bent across body possibly holding lemonade (see notes); figure on right (see notes possibly Dr Beatty), in white trousers, plaid around waist, underglaze blue coat with gilt detailing, black hair, standing facing Nelson with head turned to front, stretching out right arm towards Nelson's arm possibly to take his pulse (see notes).
