Seal impression: Royal
Reverse. This seal is the Bretigny Seal of Edward III re-used, with the substitution of Ricardus for Edwardus in the legend. It will have been amongst the matrices of that monarch adjusted by William Geyton, ‘the king’s engraver in the Tower of London’, at the outset of Richard II’s reign.
