Mug
Mug, earthenware, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, cylindrical sides, loop handle with raised foliate moulding at the shoulder and foliate moulding radiating out around the lower terminal; the exterior of the mug covered with a pale buff-coloured glaze, this then covered with silver lustre and resist decorated, so that the buff ground beneath is revealed, with to either side of the body a bird perched on a branch, a foliate spray to the front of the body, around the upper body a plaited wave border enclosing leaf forms, brown bands around the lower body, a silver lustre band around the interior lip-rim, a worn pattern of stylized leaves to the handle.
