Maiolica plate with pink earthenware body, standing on a raised foot rim, with cushion-moulded and curved spreading sides, deep cavetto with convex centre. Covered with a deep cobalt blue ground on both sides, decorated in white and ochre: centre of well contains an 8-point star made from two overlapping white squares, with 'B' in the middle; cavetto edged with ochre lines; cavetto wall and rim flange have simple flower sprigs in white and ochre; edge of rim has a band of white dots, an ochre band with smaller white dots, and an ochre line.
