Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Food warmer (hot water plate), pearl glazed, footring, hollow plate shaped body, triangular loop handle on either side under triangular water spout, water spout on right open, on left capped with moulded anthemion, notched rim. The well transfer-printed in underglaze blue with the 'Cows Crossing a Stream' pattern - a rustic scene with three cows in a stream, a farm hand behind, wooden bridge and a large tree to the left, watermill and trees etc behind. Dense floral border mostly of roses. Vignette of 'Cows Crossing a Stream' on either outer side, handles and anthemion printed with fruiting vines reserved on a deep blue ground.
