Ladle

Swansea China Works

Ladle, earthenware; rounded bowl with a long straight handle curving downwards at the top with a moulded leaf; the bowl transfer printed with the 'Castle gatehouse' pattern, - an underglaze blue transfer print of a castled gate house, with figures and cows on the road, next to a river crossed by a bridge, with tall trees on the opposite bank, bordered by a stylised flower and patterned border; the handle transfer printed with white fleur de lys on a blue ground.
