Iron Age / Roman copper alloy harness fitting
Cast flat copper alloy triskel with central circular perforation conutersunk on one side and surrounded by rough punch marks on the other. Two of the arms have broken off and the third expands to a pelta (?) shaped terminal. Both sides have been finnished and there are traces of wear on hte inside edge of one of the arms. A cast copper alloy rod with a circular loop at one end apparently fits through the central perforation. The end of the rod has been burred to hold it in place. Unlikley to be a bridle bit but could be a harness fitting of some kind.
