Swatch of tweed
Swatches of tweed held in card top which is covered in red imitation leather (thin plastic with textured surface) and has printed inscription in white and gold. Each fabric has small self-adhesive label on reverse with specifications of type, width and weight. There are blue biro marks on some of these.
Red card top has yellow rope attachment for hanging (cellulosic core covered with silk? fibre). The rope is fed through 2 copper alloy grommets which are set into the card and probably is held in place with knots on the inside.
A photocopied piece of paper relating to ordering of stock is pinned to one of the swatches. It is dated November 1979. It has been marked in 2 places with blue biro. The information on the paper indicates that bunch 319 'STONEHENGE' is a style of fabric produced by S. Collier & Co., Wessex
