Roman copper alloy Polden Hill brooch
Light Polden brooch. The almost flat side wings are each decorated with two transverse, hatched, bands. The axial bar of the spring is supported by the bent back ends of the wings and the chord is held by a strip of bronze projecting from the head. The bow is narrow, tapering to a knife-edge foot. This type occurs in some numbers in South East Wales.
