Teapot
Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Teapot and cover, moulded, foot ring, long low form, upper half of body slightly lobed, high angular handle, broad curved spout with flat top, domed cover also lobed, steam hole, pronounced flowerhead finial. Decorated in a light underglaze blue with a continuous transfer pattern of a band of shallow jui shaped scales each containing a half flower head around rim of lid, above which a single band of shaded blue scales broken by quatrefoile reserves, each containing an oriental flower; scale pattern repeated three deep around upper part of body, lower half undecorated; medallion on outer lower side of spout of quatrefoile surrounded by scales; long scales along back of handle; further simple scales on finial.
