S.S. SULEV, glass negative

Built 1908 by Bremer Vulkan as CLARA BLUMENFELD for Bernard Blumenfeld, Hamburg. Requisitioned in August 1914, and renamed KOHLESCHIFF 8 - she was returned to her owner in September 1916. 1920 – Sold to a Belgian owner and renamed BORINAGE. 1930 – Sold to Tallinna Laevausisus A/S, Tallin, Estonia, and renamed SULEV. She ran aground at Nantes in January 1939. 1940 – Requisitioned by UK (same name). 1950 – Sold to Cia de Nav. Pacora SA, Panama, and renamed PACORA. Purchased by BISCO (Salvage) Ltd., in 1954, she was broken up by Thomas Ward at Milford Haven later that year. (modelship gallery // dariusz mazurowski // “ Shipping World”)
