Figure of Daniel O'Connell, white earthenware with a blue tinted crackle glaze, standing on an oval plinth, inscribed in gilt script. Largely white and gilt, in contemporary dress of buttoned knee length coat, coat and trousers outlined and detailed in gilt, black shoes and necktie, naturalistically painted face, grey hair, holding gilt detailed manuscript in right hand, left arm bent. Standing against small tree trunk on his right hand side, tree trunk modelled with gilt outlined shamrocks, three clumps of extruded red and green grass, one on top of tree trunk, two on base.
