Upper Bank works, Swansea, negative
Remains of Upper Bank Copper and Zinc Works, Swansea, showing the interior of one of the three masonary gas generators. Note the rear wall built of moulded trapezoid slag blocks, angled outline of hopper on the side walls, and the pyramidical outline of the surface of the coal on the rear wall with the brickwork vitrified above the coal level. The concrete in the (left hand) corner is a culvert from the 1930/40s rebuild of the works as a munitions/ engineering works.
