Headscarf
Turquoise headscarf with figured floral motifs arranged in a trellis design. The motifs are picked out by the paler coloured wefts.
4/1 satin weave with turquoise coloured warps and pale turquoise coloured wefts. Wefts = singles yarns, Z-spun; warps = 2-ply, S-twist. Short edges end in short fringe (length = 3-4cm); wefts are not secured and are slightly starting to ease out of the weave. Long edges are finished with a small double turnback (width = c. 4mm), held in place with machine stitches using white silk or synthetic thread (2-ply, Z-twist).
