Bell, hand
Hand bell, bell metal, with turned wooden handle attached to the bell by a metal spindle running through it and terminating in a metal finial at the top, to the base of the spindle is attached the chain and clapper; the exterior of the bell covered with a crimson japan which has mostly worn off, around the base of the bell traces remain of a formal border of overlapping ovals in silver to which the varnish has given a golden tinge, the handle also covered with a crimson japan which has mostly worn off.
